Matthew Goode up for Stoker

Matthew Goode who has starred in such films as WATCHMEN and MATCH POINT is in talks to star in Park Chan-wook’s American debut, STOKER. The indie film, which is said to be a high priority for Fox Searchlight, has already cast Mia Wasikowska (ALICE IN WONDERLAND) and Nicole Kidman. The film, written by Wentworth Miller (actor in PRISON BREAK) under the name Ted Foulke, tells the story of Wasikowska, a moody teenager whose estranged Uncle comes and lives with her and her family after Wasikowska’s father dies. Of course not everything is peaches as strange occurrences begin to happen.

The film, produced by Free Scott the Ridley and Tony Scott production company, should of already been in production but is running behind schedule after Colin Firth, originally cast as the Uncle, seemingly dropped out. Goode who is a strong possiblity to take over from Firth as the Uncle has not yet been confirmed but with the project being such a ‘high priority’ for Fox Searchlight he will most likely be cast.

Paul finished is BA in Film & Broadcast Productions during the summer and has somehow landed the position of Media & Marketing Manager in the London Korean Film Festival happening this November (plug). While at University Paul found his speciality lay in Script Development, scriptwriting and Editing. He has written, edited and director a small number of not very good short films but does not let that dissuade him from powering through. After the Koreans are through with him he looks to enter the paid world of Script Development. He likes incredibly bad horror films, East Asian movies, comics and lots of other stuff.
