Elizabeth Olsen Talks ‘Godzilla’

Elizabeth Olsen has pretty much confirmed her rumoured role in Gareth Edwards’ entry into the very extensive GODZILLA franchise. On the BAFTA red carpet this Sunday gone, Olsen said:

It’s definitely not lighthearted. It’s kind of going back to its roots of the original Japanese film.

This is great news, as the original GODZILLA, released in 1954, was a very dark and serious film. The ending is one of the most powerful ever put to screen, and even though I enjoy the campier later additions to the world of the Big-G, a serious take should help to erase the memory of 1998’s Hollywood attempt directed by Roland Emmerich.

Recent rumours have hinted that GODZILLA will be taking on another monster or two, and that Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Bryan Cranston will be joinging the case as well.

Gareth Edwards’ GODZILLA returns to screens on 16th May 2014. But if you can’t wait that long for your kaiju filled destructive flicks, then catch PACIFIC RIM this summer.
