Straight Outta Compton star to lead the cast of ’24: Legacy’

One of the stars of last summer’s Straight Outta Compton is set to lead the new series of 24. Corey Hawkins, who played Dr. Dre in last year’s N.W.A. biopic will top the cast for 24: Legacy, so reports The Hollywood Reporter.

According to the trade, Hawkins will play the role of Army Ranger Eric Carter in the show, which for the first time will not include the character of Jack Bauer (Kiefer Sutherland).

They have a bit about the plot of the new Fox series too:

After turning his life around with military service following a rough upbringing, Carter must team with CTU in order to combat a terrorist plot that is threatening his well-being.

Fox have ordered a pilot with a view to go to series if it proves successful.

Hawkins is currently in the new series of The Walking Dead and will star in next summer’s Kong: Skull Island.
