One of the best films we’ve seen this year is Rose Glass’s Love Lies Bleeding which we reviewed very positively on the site earlier this year. One of the stars of that film, still to get a release in the UK, is Katy O’Brian, and it looks like she has been lined up to star opposite Tom Cruise in the next ‘Mission: Impossible’ film.
The as-yet-untitled film is in production – last seen via set pics in London – and reunites Cruise with Ving Rhames, Henry Czerny, Simon Pegg, Vanessa Kirby, Esai Morales, Hayley Atwell, Shea Whigham, and Pom Klementieff, all of whom were in Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning. No clue as to whom O’Brian will play in the film as yet though.
Holt McCallany, Nick Offerman, Janet McTeer and Hannah Waddingham are all also set to appear in the new movie.
A release date has been set for the 23rd of May 2025 which would be approximately two years since the last movie. The plot is under wraps but will continue the story from ‘Dead Reckoning’. Christopher McQuarrie is writing and directing the new film which will shoot in various locations all over the world.
Those still needing to see Love Lies Bleeding will be pleased to hear that the film will debut in the UK through Lionsgate on 19th April 2024.
