The UK release of the Sundance breakout hit A Real Pain which is written, directed by and co-stars Jesse Eisenberg has been revealed. The film will land in UK and Irish cinemas on 10th January through Searchlight Pictures, according to an official release.
Kieran Culkin stars alongside Eisenberg in the new movie which we caught at this year’s Sundance (review here).
A REAL PAIN follows mismatched cousins David (Jesse Eisenberg) and Benji (Kieran Culkin) reunite for a tour through Poland to honor their beloved grandmother. The adventure takes a turn when the odd-couple’s old tensions resurface against the backdrop of their family history.
I said of the film; “Eisenberg doesn’t heap on the sentiment, choosing to underplay the scenes which ultimately makes it more powerful.” This is a great movie and should attract awards voters later in the year. Expect this to screen at late 2024 festivals, as well.
Here’s the new teaser trailer.
