The prequel to John Carpenter’s THE THING is set to start shooting this coming March, which is really, really, really exciting new for people like me, who loved the first movie all of those years ago with Kurt Russell.
Matthijs van Heijningen, Jr. is helming the film, which will roll until June in Toronto, Canada.
The film is said to be an earlier story about the mutation that attacks the Norwegian base in which the original movie is based around.
Production Weekly broke the news about the shoot on their Twitter page.
“Universal’s prequel to John Carpenter’s classic thriller “The Thing,” is due to begin filming March and continue till June in Toronto.”
