US Weekend Box-Office, Avatar still rakes it in

Another weekend at the US Box-Office, and guess what? Not a lot has changed. In fact, everything remains in the same position as last week bar two entries, which reside towards the bottom of the list. So, AVATAR is still number one, and in fact, passed the $1 billion mark in worldwide gross, becoming the fastest movie to do so.

AVATAR made another $68.3 million over the weekend, which again is a record for its third weekend on release, easily beating SPIDER-MAN 3’s $45 million haul.

Guy Ritchie’s SHERLOCK HOLMES remained in the two spot, even though it dropped a little from last week’s take, but still managed $38.3 in green over the weekend. ALVIN AND THE CHIPMUNKS: THE SQUEAKQUEL came in third, will all of the kiddies and their families heading out while still on the festive break to take in a movie.
