How about this then? A film starring Mariah Carey is leading the nominations for the NAACP awards. PRECIOUS garnered eight nominations in all, including nods for acting, directing and writing. We must add that Carey was not nominated, but Gabourey Sidibe did in the Outstanding Actress in a Motion Picture category.
The NAACP Image Awards is the nation’s premier event celebrating the outstanding achievements and performances of people of color in the arts (motion picture, television, recording, and literature), as well as those individuals or groups who promote social justice through their creative endeavors.
The awards are dished out in Los Angeles on February 26th, 2010.
