The word on the street is that The Queen and Frost/Nixon writer Peter Morgan is no longer working on the screenplay for the next James Bond film, which is being directed by Sam Mendes.
The Telegraph are reporting the news, adding that acclaimed playwright Patrick Marber (Notes on A Scandal, Closer) is wanted by Mendes to work on the flick. Take a look.
“It is a mystery worthy of a Bond script,” says my man with the clapperboard.
A spokesman for the Hollywood studio MGM tells me: “The film-makers say the Morgan / Marber switch is just speculation.”
Okay, this is interesting. So, what is going on. It’s all speculation at the moment as the above quote says. The new film is said to be rolling later this year for a 2011 release. More news as and when folks.
