Constantin Films remaking Tarzan in 3D

Variety are reporting that Constantin Films, the guys behind the Resident Evil movies, are bringing a new Tarzan flick to screens.

The trade reports that Robert Kulzer and Reinhard Klooss will produce the CGI-animated film for release in 3D.

Constantin acquired animation rights to the “Tarzan” novels from the estate of author Edgar Rice Burroughs. The first book in the series, “Tarzan of the Apes,” was published in 1912 and spawned numerous sequels and related works. The character became strongly identified with Johnny Weismuller after he starred as Tarzan in a series of MGM features in the 1930s, helping the Ape Man become one of the world’s best-known literary figures.

Kulzer is currently producing a live-action version of the classic story of The Three Musketeers, which will also be released in 3D. That film stars Milla Jovovich, and is directed by Paul WS Anderson.
