According to Deadline, Marvel have hired a screenwriter to tackle another of their properties, this time Iron Fist. xXx scripter Rich Wilkes has been hired by Marvel Studios to pen a screenplay for a proposed movie, based around the story of ‘a martial arts expert whose battle with a dragon–ended when he plunged his hands through the beast’s molten heart–turned his fists into indestructible weapons.’
The trade reports that Marvel have previously tried to turn Iron Fist into a movie, ten years ago with Brit Ray Park (you may remember him as Darth Maul in the first Star Wars prequel), but that did not happen.
Wilkes also has The Dirt, the infamous unfilmed Motley Crue story on the cards, though that was recently put into turnaround by Paramount. Now that’s one story we’d like to see told on the big-screen.
