The Spider-Man casting rumours continue, and now that we’ve got our Peter Parker in the form of Andrew Garfield, the rumour mill turns to see who may be up for the role of the ‘female love interest’. The latest name to be attached to the film is none other than Hilary Duff, who could be up to play the role of Gwen Stacey, or even Mary Jane Watson?
Well, this is a huge rumour at the moment as the news stems from a newspaper article with hockey player Mike Comrie, who is actually married to Duff, who just happened to mention that he saw a script for the Spider-Man reboot sitting on his coffee table at home – and that’s all we have.
Although tastefully furnished (Comrie says he’s unsure if anything is from The Brick), it is relatively humble by Beverly Hills standards. The kitchen contains evidence of their professional lives – his daily diet is posted on the fridge (from a bacon cheddar burrito for breakfast to five pigs-in-a-blanket as a nighttime snack) and a script marked “Spiderman” sits on the table, with lines for a character simply called “girl” highlighted in yellow (rumours swirl about who Spidey’s love interest will be in the series’ next instalment.)
The film, which will be directed by Marc Webb, is set to hit cinemas in the summer of 2012.
