This is awesome news, both for fans of the Alien series, and for Gemma Arterton, if anything comes of it. It seems that Arterton, star of Quantum of Solace and The Disappearance of Alice Creed, is to meet up with Ridley Scott to discuss his proposed Alien prequel films.
The word is that Scott was so impressed with the young British actress for her work in ‘Alice Creed’ that he is wanting to meet up to discuss her maybe starring as the female lead in the planned films. The legendary helmer requested the meeting with the actress, according to The Times.
Scott recently revealed some details surrounding the story to Virgin Media (via Digital Spy), which will be told over two movies.
“The film will be really tough, really nasty. It’s the dark side of the moon. We are talking about gods and engineers. Engineers of space. And were the aliens designed as a form of biological warfare? Or biology that would go in and clean up a planet?” He said.
Arterton will next be seen in Stephen Frears’ Tamara Drewe.
