The Hollywood Reporter are reporting that Matthew McConaughey and Emile Hirsch will star in Voltage Pictures’ black comedy Killer Joe.
According to the trade, the story centers on a brother (Hirsch) and sister combo who plot the death of their mother for the insurance money and hire “Killer Joe” Cooper, a cop and contract killer (McConaughey) to do the deed.
No idea as to who will be playing the sister as yet, but the legendary William Friedkin will direct the film from Pulitzer Prize- and Tony Award-winning writer Tracy Letts.
Shooting starts in the New Orleans area in November.
