It has been revealed in the latest issue of Empire magazine, one in which both Batman and Superman grace the cover of, that Zack Snyder sought the permission of The Dark Knight trilogy helmer Christopher Nolan, before tackling his next superhero flick, Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice.
Speaking to the magazine, which hits newsstands this week, Snyder said to Nolan:
“You tell me if you don’t want me to do it,” Snyder recalls. “After a silence, Nolan said, ‘Well, we don’t own these characters. When you’re done making Batman movies, someone else will [make them].’”
Nolan eventually granted his permission, but…
“I think he found it a little bit hard, I would feel the same way.”
Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice finally hits cinemas in March. The film stars Henry Cavill as Clark Kent/Superman and Ben Affleck as Bruce Wayne/Batman.
More coverage as we approach the release date, which is the 25th.
