Bootleg trailer for the The Thing leaks online

This is not something that I usually post on the main site, and if you are a follower of the site site on Facebook, you would have seen this yesterday, but I am really excited about THE THING prequel from Universal, which arrives in cinemas in 2011.

This low-quality, hanheld bootleg of the trailer for the film, was recorded at the New York Comic Con this past week, and hopefully will force the studio to put the actual trailer online pretty soon. It is wobbly in places, and not great, but it hopefully gives us an idea of what to expect.

Synopsis: Paranoia spreads like an epidemic among a group of researchers as they’re infected, one by one, by a mystery from another planet. Paleontologist Kate Lloyd (Winstead) has traveled to the desolate region for the expedition of her lifetime. Joining a Norwegian scientific team that has stumbled across an extraterrestrial ship buried in the ice, she discovers an organism that seems to have died in the crash eons ago. But it is about to wake up. When a simple experiment frees the alien from its frozen prison, Kate must join the crew’s pilot, Carter (Edgerton), to keep it from killing them off one at a time. And in this vast, intense land, a parasite that can mimic anything it touches will pit human against human as it tries to survive and flourish.
