Humanistic Films are planning the independent film UNDER THE SHADOW.
Humanistic Films Producers, Chaz Fatur and Eric Goren, along with independent producer/ screenwriter, Bruce Foreman have the full backing from The Flying Tigers Association, along with two remaining living Flying Tigers Aces… and have attachments from director Jim Fargo and up and coming actor Jon Lee Brody.
Humanistic Films and director Jim Fargo are also reportedly in talks with actors Shia LaBeouf, Robert De Niro, and Matthew McConaughey.
Under the Shadow focuses on three orphans, Tak (a Japanese-American boy), Wayne and Sarah (brother and sister) living in a war torn Kunming, China Orphanage. Wayne and Sarah’s Grandfather, Charles sends them to the safety of Staunton Military Academy in Virginia. Tak mysteriously disappears to join his heritage, The JAAF (Japanese Army Air Force). Wayne later joins the AVG ( American Volunteer Group “The Flying Tigers”) headed by Brig. Gen. Claire Lee Chennault. This would prove to be a final aerial battle to remember… childhood companions in a dog fight of survival… All to protect the Burma Road, the lifeline of the Chinese! Tex Hill (who would be the Matthew McConoughey character, should his involvementbe confirmed) will give narration!
Humanistic Films with their other Technical Advisor, Robert Lanthier (resident expert on the Flying Tigers) we have the full permission to use the original Flying Tigers names for supporting characters.
The film will shoot in 3D.
Clint Eastwood was first approached to helm the project, but kindly refused due the fact he’s moving on to other types of genres, i.e. (INVICTUS, HEREAFTER).
Producers looking at a 2011 start, and are arranging Independent Chinese backing and funding.
