Fasten your seat belts (not that trains have them, but, erm, maybe they should), because these five new clips make UNSTOPPABLE look like a bumpy ride.
After their first train-wreck movie hit, THE TAKING OF PELHAM 123, director Tony Scott and actor Denzel Washington have teamed up again to bring us UNSTOPPABLE. The new SPEED on railway tracks.
Joining them is STAR TREK star, Chris Pine, who plays a trainee conductor hired to replace Washington after he is laid off due to company cutbacks (recession hits again, eh?). But when a half mile-long freighter, carrying all sorts of nasty explosive material and deadly gases, goes out of control, they join forces to stop it before it wipes out a nearby city. Talk about working under pressure.
My biggest wonder with this flick is not how good it is going to be (I think as an action movie it’ll pretty much rock) but rather it is if the train will live up to the movie’s title and just never stop? Because that’s a franchise set up right there. Future titles could be along the lines of, ‘Yep, It’s Still Going’, and ‘No We Haven’t Stopped It Yet’. Add your sequel titles in the comments below…
UNSTOPPABLE is due out in US cinemas on the 12th of November, and the UK on the 24th.
