The Seventh installment of this popular horror franchise has officially had the third lowest opening but it still managed to knock fellow Halloween flick PARANORMAL ACTIVITY 2 off the top spot.
SAW 3D sliced ( excuse the pun) through the competition at the weekend US Box Office, taking $24.2 million since it opened on Friday. And with it came the coveted Number 1 spot.
Although the seventh and supposedly final installment in the horror movie franchise had the series’ third-lowest opening, it nevertheless managed to knock PARANORMAL ACTIVITY, which earned $16.5 million on the weekend, to Number 2.
Summit Entertainment’s RETIRED. EXTREMELY. DANGEROUS held on to the 3rd spot with 10.8 million with JACKASS 3D snapping at it’s heels. Rounding out the top five is HEREAFTER starring Matt Damon.
