Mel and his beaver

The first real image is out of Mel Gibson‘s newest project THE BEAVER. Mel has had a hell of a time recently, 99.9% of his own making, but it’s good to see that he still has a sense of humour.

THE BEAVER has generated a look of buzz over the last two years, since appearing on the coveted ‘Blacklist’ in 2008. A list of the best un-produced film scripts which are normally amazing and imaginative but something like silly old marketing or property rights get in the way, such as with the great THE MUPPET MAN. But lucky some are seeing the light of day such as this project because of surprisingly Jodie Foster being so damn keen to director the sucker.

IMDB have summed the film up pretty concisely saying:

“A guy walks around with a puppet of a beaver on his hand and treats it like a living creature.”

The film by rights should of been out by now but the trials and tribulations of Mel Gibson, from anti-Semetic rants to troublesome soon to be ex-wives has cast his commitment in doubt not to mention the studios confidence in him. But thank God it looks as if the film is in post and should see the light of day in the next couple of months….. Unless Mel does something else.

See the still below. Thanks to Comingsoon.net

Paul finished is BA in Film & Broadcast Productions during the summer and has somehow landed the position of Media & Marketing Manager in the London Korean Film Festival happening this November (plug). While at University Paul found his speciality lay in Script Development, scriptwriting and Editing. He has written, edited and director a small number of not very good short films but does not let that dissuade him from powering through. After the Koreans are through with him he looks to enter the paid world of Script Development. He likes incredibly bad horror films, East Asian movies, comics and lots of other stuff.

Looks good. Smart, witty poster. I look forward to seeing this and How I Silent My Summer Vacation as well. More Mel and less hyperbole from so-called reporters, thanks.
