Oren Peli Set to Direct “Eliza Graves”

PARANORMAL ACTIVITY creator, Oren Peli, has set himself a new spine-tingling challenging, after saying a big yay! to directing an Edgar Allan Poe-inspired story for Sobini Films and Icon Productions.

ELIZA GRAVES is loosely based on a short story by the famous horror writer, and revolves around a Harvard Medical School graduate who doesn’t see anything wrong with going to work at an insane asylum. Of course, after he gets there he begins to notice that things aren’t quite as black and white as they seem, and that maybe those in control aren’t really running the show.

Currently working on the found footage film AREA 51, Peli is likely to begin developing ELIZA GRAVES after he has finished the editing process. The GRAVES project has been stuck in movie limbo since 2001. Back in the day, Johnny Depp was offered the lead role, with Natalie Portman, Ian McKellan and even Heath Ledger attached to star. Using a script written by Joe Gangemi, hopefully Peli can bright this flick back to ghoulishly-good life.
