According to various sources, the hunt for the next Man of Steel is now on.
SUPERMAN reboot director Zack Snyder and the mighty Christopher Nolan are supposedly looking for an actor between the age of 28 and 32 to don the iconic red and blue costume. Don’t necessarily expect to hear a big name casting call as both Christopher Reeve and Brandon Routh were unknowns when they were cast in the lead role of SUPERMAN and SUPERMAN RETURNS respectively. While it is expected that Snyder will follow suit, potential contenders including Arnie Hammer and Ian Somerhalder have been mentioned.
In what is anticipated to be a lengthy audition process, Snyder and Nolan are expected to see hundreds of hopefuls with production on the film set to begin next June.
SUPERMAN should return to theaters during the 2012 holiday season.
