More Casting for Spiderman Reboot

Marc Webb’s SPIDERMAN Reboot is well and truly under way if even more casting news being reported by Heat Vision.  Irrfan Khan (IN TREATMENT) has been added to Spiderman’s rogues gallery, joining Rhys Ifans (MR NICE) has the Lizard.  Heat Vision have stated that Khan will play the villain “Nels Van Atter”  a petty thug who could be the killer of Uncle Ben.  The character must have wider implications to the franchise but is a mystery as he is either a very obscure character in the comic or doesn’t exist.

Also joining the ranks are Annie Parisse from the RUBICON TV show who is in talks to play Khan’s wife, the great actor Campbell Scott (RODGER DODGER) and  Julianne Nicholson (LAW & ORDER: CRIMINAL INTENT) are in negotiations to play Peter Parker’s parents.  Its a great piece of casting with Campbell Scott but it is unclear how the characters of Peter’s parents will feature, will they die at the start or be in flashbacks?  I hope that they are not in the film throughout as I think this would be a huge mistake.

So the above actors join Andrew Garfield (Peter Parker/Spidey), Emma Stone (Gwen Stacy), Dennis Leary (Capt George Stacy), Martin Sheen (Uncle Ben), Sally Fields (Aunt May) and Rhys Ifans (Curt Conners/Lizard).

The film is due for a UK release of 4 July 2012.

While at University Paul found his speciality lay in Script Development, scriptwriting and Editing. He has written, edited and director a small number of not very good short films but does not let that dissuade him from powering through. After the Koreans are through with him he looks to enter the paid world of Script Development. He likes incredibly bad horror films, East Asian movies, comics and lots of other stuff.
