Creator of “Deadpool” tells Fox: “Get your act together”

The comic-book artist, Rob Liefield, who created the character, Deadpool, for Marvel comics, believes that 20th Century Fox is taking way too long to make the movie. Liefield took to twitter to vent his frustration and explain his ultimate worry, that if the DEADPOOL project ever gets going, it may be just a terrible, half-hearted adaptation.

Here’s what he wrote on twitter:

“Dear FOX studios, get your act together. Deadpool is not Green Lantern, not a family film. DP is ‘filthy’ think Expendables $$ w/ RR. Also FOX, find your balls and film the script from [‘Zombieland’ writers] Rheese and Wernick. You will make loads of money and thank yourself later. It boils down to this, Ryan Reynolds, Mr. Sexiest Man alive paired with best comic script ever written, no-brainer…. make Deadpool happen!”

All that’s currently known about the project is that two drafts of the script have been finished and that a Swedish commercial director, Adam Berg, has been in talks to head the team.

Liefield still can’t draw to save his life with his kidney bean and elongated pac-man feet. His art is the equivilant of a backwards baseball cap on a 40 year old man.
