A Transporter TV series is coming, and so is one based on Taken too!

A TV series based on THE TRANSPORTER trilogy of films is being developed, according to Deadline. A US broadcaster has picked up the show, but the name of said network is being kept under wraps for the time being.

The 12 part series, which is costing a reported $46 million, revolves around a driver who will transport any package to any destination, no questions asked. The driver Frank Martin was played by Jason Statham in the three huge films, produced and co-written by Luc Besson.

French producer Lagardere Entertainment is apparently financing the show, having licensed THE TRANSPORTER from EuropaCorp.

The article up on Deadline also reports that a series based on EuropaCorp’s other successful film TAKEN is also on the cards, but will not go into production until after the released of the sequel, which Liam Neeson starts shooting next year.
