Kaufman/Jonze film

Charlie Kaufman and Spike Jonze are two of the most creative and progressive filmmakers in the last 15+ years, producing excellent and baffling films seperately and together such as BEING JOHN MALKOVICH and ADAPTATION.

Both filmmakers have been quiet in the last year after the releases of each of their last films.  Now there is a growing rumour that they are reuniting for a new feature, pitching it to various companies.  Reported by the LA Times,  describing the project existing as only a treatment at this point.  Though in an Italian interview  Kaufman slips a possible title for the film being called TENTATIVE.

But with the news of a new project, some other possible Kaufman films have come to light with Being Charlie Kaufman stating one titled FRANK OR FRANCIS;

“a director embraced for broadly commercial hits resents his success and wants to be considered an auteur and artiste; one imagines it as a bizarre-o world version of Kaufman himself, who hasn’t made any broadly commercial movies and has in fact been embraced as an auteur and artiste.  It is a musically based on all the things that really peeve Kaufman off right now.  The film is also a possible vehicle of the screenwriter to direct.”

The above project is apparently in the hands of Sony but is going nowhere.

Paul finished is BA in Film & Broadcast Productions during the summer and has somehow landed the position of Media & Marketing Manager in the London Korean Film Festival happening this November (plug). While at University Paul found his speciality lay in Script Development, scriptwriting and Editing. He has written, edited and director a small number of not very good short films but does not let that dissuade him from powering through. After the Koreans are through with him he looks to enter the paid world of Script Development. He likes incredibly bad horror films, East Asian movies, comics and lots of other stuff.
