No more Alien rumours

Finally some solid news coming out of the ALIEN PREQUEL camp and by ALIEN PREQUEL I mean completely seperate film from the ALIENS franchise but with some of the same stuff and called PROMETHEUS.

Confused yet?  Well let’s here it directly from Ridley Scott’s mouth;

While Alien was indeed the jumping off point for this project, out of the creative process evolved a new, grand mythology and universe in which this original story takes place. The keen fan will recognize strands of Alien’s DNA, so to speak, but the ideas tackled in this film are unique, large and provocative. I couldn’t be more pleased to have found the singular tale I’d been searching for, and finally return to this genre that’s so close to my heart.

And that’s not the only news about the film. That girl last seen kicking a hornets nest, Noomi Rapace, has been casted as the lead, Elizabeth Shaw described as a “young scientist”. There are still four other main roles to be filled, one possibly with Michael Fassbender and another of the named Vickers, who has both Angelina Jolie or Charlize Theron circling.  It’s good that we are finally getting some facts about the production and that Rapace has been cast as she is exactly the type of actress that should be in this role, much like Sigourney Weaver in the original films.

PROMETHEUS is looking to be released on March 12th 2012.

Paul finished is BA in Film & Broadcast Productions during the summer and has somehow landed the position of Media & Marketing Manager in the London Korean Film Festival happening this November (plug). While at University Paul found his speciality lay in Script Development, scriptwriting and Editing. He has written, edited and director a small number of not very good short films but does not let that dissuade him from powering through. After the Koreans are through with him he looks to enter the paid world of Script Development. He likes incredibly bad horror films, East Asian movies, comics and lots of other stuff.
