2007 saw the release of the fantastic Spanish film TIMECRIMES (LOS CRONOCRIMENES) and 2012 will most likely see the poorly copied remake of the same movie.
TIMECRIMES was one of the best time travelling paradox films since BACK TO THE FUTURE;
A man accidentally gets into a time machine and travels back in time nearly an hour. Finding himself will be the first of a series of disasters of unforeseeable consequences.
The film expertly mixed sci-fi with horror to create a fun and at times, incredibly creepy, film turning it into a cult classic. Of course now Hollywood wants on that bandwagon. It has been announced that Oscar winning writer Steve Zaillian (SCHINDLER’S LIST), has taken over the over the draft previously written by an oscar-nominee Tim Sexton (CHILDREN OF MEN).
Its bad news that TIMECRIMES is being remade but at least they have a more than competent writer in charge of the script. hey maybe they will make something good, it’s always nice to dream.
