Liam Neeson is back as Qui-Gon Jinn in the Star Wars TV series

I can;t claim to have watched the Star Wars TV series THE CLONE WARS all that much, but I must admit that I was a little excited to hear that Liam Neeson was to lend his vocal talent to two new episodes of the LucasFilm show to be broadcast this month and next month.

Neeson is back as his character from THE PHANTOM MENACE, Jedi master Qui-Gon Jinn, and appears on screen in a ghostly form giving advice to Obi-Wan.

Talking to EW, Neeson explained as to why he wanted to return to the franchise. He said that “these characters resonate…even after all these years.” He adds, “Growing up, my heroes were cowboys; they were strong and mysterious, and it seemed like they always rode off into the sunset. For kids today, Star Wars has that same kind of magic. I really wanted to be a part of that.”

We love it. It might even make us tune in. US folk, catch Mr. Neeson on the January 28th and Febrary 11th episodes of the show.
