Sir Anthony Hopkins is reportedly in talks to play legendary filmmaker Alfred Hitchock in a new film that will tell the story of the making of the most famous horror story of them all, PSYCHO.
The Hollywood Reporter says that the movie will be based on the 1998 book ‘Alfred Hitchock and the Making of Psycho’.
The trade says that the story “tracks how Hitchcock, at the height of his game as a director, decided to make a ‘lowly’ horror movie. No studio wanted to touch it initially so Hitchcock scrounged for financing by himself.”
It will also focus in on the relationship between Hitchcock and his wife Alma Reville.
Sounds exciting, and let’s face it, Hopkins could be the perfect man for the role of Hitchcock.
The film’s screenplay will be written by BLACK SWAN scribe John McLaughlin.
