There is quite a good little direct-to-DVD movie hitting shelves on Monday 31st January, the Will Canon directed fraternity-robbery-thriller BROTHERHOOD, which I had the opportunity to watch tonight.
Running at 77 minutes, the film is tightly woven story that revolves around a fraternity initiation gone wrong. I can best describe it as a cross between RESERVOIR DOGS, ANIMAL HOUSE and Doug Liman’s GO, and I was pleasantly surprised by it.
I’m not going to post a huge review for the film, but instead share a couple of plus points that I picked up from it. The film obviously draws from a lot of the aforementioned movies for inspiration, but on hand we have a great young cast, superb direction from Canon and a tight script. It also reminded me of black comedy capers like STAG, or VERY BAD THINGS, and on a Sunday evening I rather enjoyed it. If you were into those, then you’ll definitely dig this.

Synopsis: When a gang initiation goes horribly wrong, a group of young men must try and survive the night from hell in this tensely gripping thriller. Slowly bleeding to death and with the police closing in, his friends take desperate steps to cover their tracks. With every step, they are drawn further into a darker and more violent world where right and wrong cease to have any meaning.
