New Photos from the set of Spiderman appear online

Hollywood boy wonder Andrew Garfield is swinging around the streets of Los Angeles in the newest photographs arriving online from the shoot.

Spiderman 2012, whatever you happen to think about a reboot so soon after a successful trilogy, is well under way and these photos from the production have appeared online.

As an aside, if you want to know what I think about this project then I’m as yet undecided. The third film in the last trilogy was the weakest of the three and maybe it was time for a new direction but, on the other hand, a reboot is definately strange given that it’s only been 10 years since the start of the last trilogy. Its confusing but I suppose, in movie time, enough time has passed to have another go.

Back to the photos, which appear in all shapes and sizes due to the wonders of the internet and file formats. They still look cool, which is the main thing here. Originally appearing at a website called On Location Vacation, I found them thanks to the guys over at Den Of Geek. In the photos, Spiderman can be seen in full costume during takes and in breaks in filming.

I would have expected, given the anticipation surrounding the project that the set would be a lot more closed. Lord knows that when Steven Spielberg rocked up in the UK last year to shoot War Horse, it was cloak and daggers at midnight with regards to set control. These photo’s, taken as the film shot on the open streets of LA, are certainly remarkable.

Lets take a little gander at them then yeah.

First then, here is the crusader atop a lorry doing his webslinging business. First off, I’ll bet this looks bad-ass on camera and, by the way, loving the new suit for Spidey. A little less frilly, so to speak.

And below is the man himself doing some swinging between high buildings. Again, this looks very dynamic and whoever took this picture is gifted. Great shot.

And finally, a little less glamour as Spidey is seen to between takes. He looks a little nackered but I’m sure the finished film will be good.

Spiderman is out in 2012.
