Benjamin Walker is cast at the lead in Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter

A relative unknown is set to star in director Timur Bekmambetov’s upcoming adaptation of the graphic novel ABRAHAM LINCOLN: VAMPIE HUNTER. Benjamin Walker, who is best known for roles in KINSEY and Clint Eastwood’s FLAGS OF OUR FATHERS, will play the title role in the new movie, according to Variety.

The story is written as a biography of Abraham Lincoln, based on “secret diaries” kept by the 16th President and given to the author by a vampire named Henry Sturges.

Shooting is set to kick off in March for a June 22nd, 2012 release. It will be shot in 3D.

The film is set up at 20th Century Fox.
