He is currently on cinema screens as jail-breaking husband John Brennan in The Next Three Days, but it seems Russell Crowe has had enough of acting – for the next year, anyway.
The Oscar winning actor told Australia’s Daily Telegraph newspaper he intends to stay Down Under and work on developing projects for his own production company, Fear of God Films.
“I don’t really have any plans to go overseas and make any movies this year,” he said.
“We’ve got a lot of things going on in Australia and I need to spend some time here to solidify and build.”
It’s understood that Crowe’s main focus will be on adapting the Sydney-based gangster novel My Brother’s Keeper.
“We’ve got a bunch of projects we’ve been developing, one of them for the last seven years,” he added. “For the next little while I want to become part of this magic wave that is rising in Australian film again…”
