Tyler Perry, the filmmaking genius behind film’s like the recently released For Colored Girls and Why Did I Get Married, is set to star in the title jole in I, Alex Cross, based on the James Patterson novel of the same name. The role of Cross was portrayed in Kiss The Girls and Along Came A Spider by Morgan Freeman.
Variety reports that the new movie will be directed by Rob Cohen (xXx), and will be an origin tale of the detective/psychologist.
There is no studio on board, but QED International, the company financing the flick, is planning to selling worldwide rights next month at the European Film Market in Berlin.
