Another Assange flick is in the works

The Hurt Locker screenwriter Mark Boal has teamed up with producer Megan Ellison and production company Management 360 to develop a film about WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange.

According to Variety, the script will be based on an article by the New York Times’ executive editor, Bill Keller, entitled ‘The boy who kicked the hornet’s nest’.

This movie will apparently go up against another WikiLeaks project produced by Michelle Krumm, Barry Josephson and LH Adonis, based on a forthcoming biography of Assange.

Since 2006, the WikiLeaks whistle blowing website has published numerous state and corporate documents including secret US diplomatic cables, Church of Scientology manuals and details of Guantanamo Bay procedures.

Australian Assange is currently fighting extradition from the UK to Sweden over sexual assault allegations, which he denies.
