Harry Potter to be honoured at BAFTAs

The Harry Potter films are set to receive an award for Outstanding British Contribution to Cinema at this year’s BAFTAs.

Producer David Heyman will receive the award along with author JK Rowling at the ceremony on 13 February.

“On behalf of the over 2,000 people who worked in front of and behind the camera on each of the Harry Potter films I would like to say how honoured we all are to receive this award. And thank you to Jo Rowling for entrusting us to bring her magnificent books to the screen,” Heyman said.

The first six movies in the Harry Potter series grossed over $5.4billion worldwide, making it the top-grossing film franchise of all time.
