Is Danny Boyle going direct a werewolf movie next?

BBC America is reporting that after bringing Frankenstein to the stage, which will actully be broadcast around the world via satellite, Danny Boyle may be looking to brong another monster, or indeed monsters to the big screen… werewolves!

127 Hours and Slumdog Millionaire writer Slumdog Millionaire screenwriter Simon Beaufoy is currently writing on an adaptation of a book written by Toby Barlow which revolves around werewolves in gangland Los Angeles.

Beaufoy explained that “[the script is] really, really rough — a lot of shootings — and the difference with this particular piece of work is that these gangs can shape-shift at will into packs of dogs.”

“It’s brilliant seeing a different part of L.A. When you’re involved with the movie industry and you go to awards ceremonies you miss out on what 90 per cent of what L.A. is, which is hard-working people, lots of unemployment, lots of really difficult social issues.” He added.

Boyle is not however 100% on board as  yet, but Beaufoy said: “If I write it well enough, he’ll direct it.”
