So, this evening is a pretty big one for British film, and indeed international film as the BAFTA awards are dished out at the Royal Opera House in London. What follows is our predictions as to who we think will up there on the podium as winners this evening. I must repeat that this is who we think will win, not necessarily who SHOULD win…
Now, I have omitted the two short film categories as I haven’t seen any of those movies, but I have listed my picks for the winners of everything else.
As you can see, a favourite to win in the main categories (in my mind) is Christopher Nolan’s Inception. Two reasons. Well, I think that his omission from the Academy Awards will go in his favour for the Best Director category, and I think that it will pick up some notable mentions in the technical categories. As you can see below, I also feel that The King’s Speech will fare well.
