I love Kevin Spacey, and I love that he is always over here in the UK, doing his thing at the Old Vic etc. Well, the near legendary actor hop, skipped and jumped over to Dublin at the weekend to attend a screening of The Usual Suspects followed by an on stage Q&A session about the film and his recent work. Wow!
The event was to launch The Jameson Film Club which was previewed at this year’s Jameson Dublin International Film Festival. For this inaugural Irish event, Oscar winner Kevin Spacey attended said screening of The Usual Suspects followed by the Q&A session where he talked about the film and his recent work.
The Jameson Cult Film Club event took place last night in an abandoned warehouse ‘Kujan House’ at the Dublin docklands. The theme for the experiential event will centre around The Usual Suspects. The movie was brought to life through the chosen venue, live theatre and props transporting the audience into the world of Cult Film.
“We are delighted that Kevin Spacey has taken time out of his busy schedule to come to Dublin for the first ever Jameson Cult Film Club screening of The Usual Suspects, commented Catherine O’Grady, Director of PR, Sponsorship & Events at Jameson. “The intention of the Jameson Cult Film Club is to deliver an unforgettable screening experience for all those who attended. We hope to run a series of Jameson Cult Film Clubs in Dublin throughout the year”.
The 2011 Jameson Dublin International Film Festival takes place from the 17th-27th February. The eleven-day event showcases 130 films. Over 50 guests attend the festival to meet Irish filmmakers and audiences and discuss their work; guests confirmed to date include Emilio Estevez, Martin Sheen, Stellan Skarsgård, Ken Loach, Jim Loach, Richard Ayoade, Aidan Gillen, Juanita Wilson, George Nolfi amongst others.
