POWERS coming to the small screen

Long-time indie comic favourite, POWERS, has finally been snapped up by the US’s FX network who are behind DEXTER.

The comic by Brian Michael Bendis and Michael Avon Oeming, about two detectives that solely work on crimes involving super powered individuals, has been batted around various production companies for the last couple of years and has now finally found a home. The show owes a big thank to the success of THE WALKING DEAD as TV Execs are finally seeing the light that there are a lot of comic book properties that would do incredibly well on the TV.

The pilot is written by Charles Eglee who also wrote THE WALKING DEAD and the fantastic SHIELD and will be directed by Michael Dinner who also directed the pilots of successful shows like SONS OF ANARCHY and JUSTIFIED.

The show will hopefully be out within the year.

Paul finished is BA in Film & Broadcast Productions during the summer and has somehow landed the position of Media & Marketing Manager in the London Korean Film Festival happening this November (plug). While at University Paul found his speciality lay in Script Development, scriptwriting and Editing. He has written, edited and director a small number of not very good short films but does not let that dissuade him from powering through. After the Koreans are through with him he looks to enter the paid world of Script Development. He likes incredibly bad horror films, East Asian movies, comics and lots of other stuff.
