PROMETHEUS has a few more crew members

There has been rumours abound about the much anticipanted ‘prequel’ to ALIENS but with the confirmation of Michael Fassbender, Charlie Theron and Noomi Rapace leading the pack, cast names are coming thick and thin.

The new names are Idris Elba (THOR, THE LOSERS), Kate Dickie (RED ROAD) and Sean Harris (BRIGHTON ROCK). Who they will play is anyones guess at this time put most likely they will just be around to be used as fodder for the space monsters.

Bleeding Cool has come up with some very interesting information about the role of the aliens in PROMETHEUS which, it seems, a lot of other sites don’t want to run with since they have be burned previously by false rumours, so here it is. Scott has previously mentioned that this is not an ALIEN prequel but does exist in the same universe has the films. What does this mean? Well occurring to a Bleeding Cool source it seems that the Aliens will be in the film but they won’t look like the typical Aliens that we have all come to know and love since they mutate depending on what their host and at this stage they have not come into contact with any sort of human like species.  So they will take the form of another alien, with some familiar characteristics, that they have infected and it won’t be till nearer the end of the film that they will take the form that we know.

There is some more info and possible spoilers over at Bleeding Cool so check them out. But again we have to stress this are rumours and because of this they could be proven to be untrue. At the moment though the idea that the Aliens look very different to what we know sounds  genuine and fits very squarely with what the franchise has become, especially in the last film with the evolution of the Alien into something more human like. Of course that was terrible but I know Scott will do a better design job.

PROMETHEUS is due out June 8th 2012.

Paul finished is BA in Film & Broadcast Productions during the summer and has somehow landed the position of Media & Marketing Manager in the London Korean Film Festival happening this November (plug). While at University Paul found his speciality lay in Script Development, scriptwriting and Editing. He has written, edited and director a small number of not very good short films but does not let that dissuade him from powering through. After the Koreans are through with him he looks to enter the paid world of Script Development. He likes incredibly bad horror films, East Asian movies, comics and lots of other stuff.
