Updates (GMT):

0438: And that concludes The Hollywood News’s coverage of the 83rd Academy Awards. Please check out the full list of winners below. Congrats to The King’s Speech!!!!!! Signing off——– Paul H…

0435: All remarkably edited to that ‘Speech’. Black Swan, The Fighter, Inception, The Kids are All Right, Inception, 127 Hours, The Social Network, Toy Story 3, Trye Grit, Winter’s Bone…. and the Oscar goes to………. The King’s Speech!!!!!!!

0434: Any second now.

0433: So, here’s Steven Spielberg to present the big one. Will it be the night for The King’s Speech?

0428: A moving speech from Firth. He manages tonail it every time, even though he is clearly trying to hold it together. Thorough, deserved. Excellent….

0426: “I’m afraid my career has just peaked.” ColinFirth accepting his Oscar.

0425: And the Oscar goes to COLIN FIRTH for The King’s Speech!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

0423: Sandra Bullock addresses James Franco, who is sat down backstage looking very happy, and shy.

0421: I like how they are speaking to the nominees as they read out the nominations for best actor/ actress. Very well done…

0419: Perfect speech by Natalie Portman. Onto the last two now. Last year’s Best Actress winner Sandra Bullock comes to the stage to present.

0416: Portman.

0414: Portman or Bening?

0411: Jeff Bridges comes on stage to announce the winner of the Best Actress Oscar. Will it be Portman, or will I be right with Annette Bening? I haven’t been all night. Iexpect that to remain the same. Portman was amazing in Black Swan. Bridges wonderfully addresses each actress individually.

0407: Annette Benin is on stage to introduce us to the Governer’s Ball award winners. Eli Wallach, Jean Luc Goddard, Francis Ford Coppola and other Kevn Brownlow (film historian) honoured. All on stage.

0406: Beautiful dedication of Hooper’s award to his mother…

0404: Wow, Tom Hooper bags a surprise win for The King’s Speech. Really thought that it was going to be Fincher. Wow… wrong again, but I’m pleased. Is this the turning point for all things to be swung into The King’s Speech’s direction?

0403: She introduces Kathryn Bigalow. The nominees for acheivement in directing are….

0402: On comes Hilary Swank.

0353: Time for the emotional goodbyes to the talented people that we lost this past year, with Celine Dion providing the soundtrack…singing ‘Smile’.

0347: Best Song… the Oscar goes to Randy Newman for We Belong Together from Toy Story 3 (presented by Jennifer Hudson). Toy Story 3 now has two awards.

0345: The final award nominee for Best Song is Gwyneth Paltrow singing a track from Coming Home from Country Strong. She’s country’s newest star! She’s also quite good.

0344: Apologies, Inception has four awards so far. The clear front runner. Expect that to change as we approach the big four. Next up a performance from AR Rahman and Florence Welch for their Best Song nomination from 127 Hours.

0340: So, my maths was a little off. According to my calculations, The Social Network and Inception have three awards each, while Alice In Wonderland has two while The King’s Speech just one. Am I right?

0336: And now to Editing…. another one for Inception? Nope, it’s The Social Network, which is starting to clean up.

0334: Wow! Inception picks up its third Oscar of the evening! It is now beating The King’s Speech again. 3 to 2!

0333: Great to see Downey not taking himself too seriously.

0331: Great use of modern technology to bring Bob Hope to the stage. No Robert Downey Jr and Jude Law come on to present Best Visual Effects. There are seven awards left, including this one.

0328: On comes Billy Crystal remimiscing about hosting the Oscars. The greatest actor to ever host the Oscars was Billy himself right, but here he plays homage to first host Bob Hope.

0324: No Banksy. Inside Job takes the Oscar. Not seen it, so will not pass judgement, but Restrepo was an outstanding piece of filmmaking. Catch it as soon as you can…

0320: On comes Oprah to present Best Documentary. Is it time for Banksy to make his appearance? By the way, the full list of winners so far are posted below.

0319: Great little musical interlide (aka mash-up). Very creative.

0316: No, it’s God of Love. Guy has HUUUGE hair! “Should have got a hair cut.” His words.

0315: Come on Wish 143. Come on Britain!

0315: And the Oscar is awarded to Strangers No More, a film that is probably not on my predictions chart. I don’t even have to look.

0313: Nope, it’s Best Documentary Short.

0312: And we’re back in the room! It’s Amy Adams and Jake Gyllenhaal presenting an award called Best Live Action Short?

0305: From Tangled, I See The Light. It’s the lovely Mandy Moore and Zachary Levi, and Alan Menken on the piano!!! Love Mandy Moore…

0302: Just caught a glimpse of Once… and Dirty Dancing. Mentioned for music in film montage… Barack Obama mentions As Time Goes By. Here’s the ever entertaining, and indeed signing (Top Hat), it’s Kevin Spacey!!! Here her introduces, from Toy Story 3, Best Song nominee We Belong Together by Randy Newman…

0259: Colleen Attwood bags her third Oscar after Chicago and Memoirs of a Geisha for Alice In Wonderland.. a film also on my prediction list! She accepts her award and reads word for word from a note in her hand…… not saying a thing. Painful.

0258: And now Costume Design: Alice In Wonderland, I Am Love, The King’s SPeech, The Tempest and True Grit.

0256: It’s Cate Blanchett coming on to present Make-Up and Costume Design. Here’s make-up first with Barney’s Version, The Way Back and The Wolf Man nodded… with the Oscar going to Rick Baker and Dave Elsey for the now Academy Award winning The Wolfman!

0254: Marisa Tomei comes on to mention the Academy Science Awards. A montage that features awards given to innovators of technology used in film. Literally lasted around 30 seconds.

0251: Richard King wins for Inception. Does that mean that Inception has more Oscars than The King’s Speech at this point. Yes…

0250: More sound, this for Sound Editing. What’s the difference?

0248: Inception bags its first award of the night for Sound Editing.

0247: Scarlett Johansson and Matthew McConaughey come on for sound awards… First Achievement in Sound Editing… Even Salt is nominated.

0245: And the Oscar goes to Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross for The Social Network. Not to gloat, but that was on my list.

0242: The nominees for Best Original Score… How To Train Your Dragon, The King’s Speech, The Social Network, 127 Hours and Inception!

0242: More shameless self promotion, this time for ABC. Now Hugh Jackman and Nicole Kidman come on to the stage. Wow!!! Full blown orchestra playing the Star Wars theme tune….

0239: Two people come on stage. Forget their names. Talking about renewing vows with ABC….

0236: So, Bale picks up his award, thanks everyone that worked on the movie, shouted out to Micky and Dicky in the audience, shamelessly promoted Dicky’s website, and then cried as he mentioned his wife and little girl. There’s always one!

0235: Bloody hell!!! What a Brit.

0233: So…….. Bale wins for The Fighter. Truly deserved!!!!!

0230: Here’s Reese Witherspoon, on to surely give Christian Bale his Oscar for Best Supporting Actor for The Fighter?

0229: And the Oscar goes to… In A Better World.

0227: Welcome to the stage Arthur team Russell Brand and Dame Helen Mirren. Mirren is speaking French and Brand is translating. Brand’s hair looks very greasy…. Here’s Best Foreign Language film…

0225: So, Anne Hathaway launches into song as a dig at Hugh Jackman… and on comes Franco in drag! First Charlie Sheen joke of the night!!!!

0219: And the Oscar goes to David Seidler for The King’s Speech, the first award for the British movie of the night so far. “My father said to me that I would be a late bloomer.” Very funny, and indeed well rehearsed speech. Well done though. Equally deserved. He also thanked Her Majesty The Queen… and accepted on beahlf of all the stutterers in the world!

0217: And so to original screenplay. Inception. Please Inception!!! It deserves it!

0214: Javier Bardem and Josh Brolin come on stage in matching white tuxes to present adapted screenplay. Surely one in the bag for Sorkin??? Yes, well done to Aaron Sorkin for The Social Network, adapted from the novel The Accidental Billionaires by Ben Mezrich. Names Network in his acceptance speech and nods Mezrich. Quite a straight (borning) speech. The music is starting to play over him…..

0211: By the way, all of my predictions can be found over here. I’m not doing too well so far…

0207: And the Oscar goes to: Toy Story 3!!!!!!!

0206: I have Toy Story 3 for Best Animated Feature. Surely a shoe in….

0204: Ouch. Wrong again. Best Animated Short goes to The Lost Thing!!!

0202: So here’s Mila Kunis and Justin Timberlake presenting the Best Animated Feature and Best Animated Short Oscar. Featured background for this award is Shrek. I have Day and Knight for short though, which is up first…

0200: So, I have one out of three so far. I have Bale for Supporting Actor. Melissa Leo gave a slightly over the top speech there, but the best moment for me so far is Mr. Douglas!!!!

0157: And the Oscar goes to a very surprised looking Melissa Leo, who was nominated two years ago for Frozen River. That year she did not win… this year she does – and I get one in the back of the net for my in terms of my predictions…

0156: The Best Supporting Actress Category comes up… Kirk Douglas is stealing the show so far…. and the award goes to….

0153: So, Kirk Douglas comes onto the stage at the Kodak Theater.

0149: Is it me, or does it feel rushed so far? Okay, so in terms of my predictions. I had Roger Deakins to win for True Grit for Cinematography and The King’s Speech for Art Direction. Well, not doing too well so far…

0147: Cinematography goes to Wally Pfister for Inception!!!

0145: And the winner is….. Alice In Wonderland!!!!

0143. And we’re entering Titanic country as we see Tom Hanks step up to present Art Direction and Cinemtography… First up, Art Direction…

0141: They’re getting better. Talking lesbians… and Hathaway is kinda sweet and hot at the same time. Hang on, we’re going back in time to Oscar of yesteryear….. Gone With The Wind.

0140: Is it me or are they dying on their ass? Franco and Hathaway?

0135: Holy shit. Back To The Future!!!!

0132: Here we go. Great intro so far. Franco and Hathaway in Inception!

0107: The live feed on the site has now finished. Just about 23 minutes to go until the show kicks off itself. See you in 20…

0054: Red carpet cast streaming over here will finish in 5 minutes, then we’re on to the real film stuff. Enough of this ‘who’s wearing what’ etc.

0049: Sandra Bullock picked her dress because it was red. Meanwhile, Robert Downey Jr and Christian Bale are chatting away at the back of the red carpet. Iron Man and Batman, together at last…

0042: Robert Downey Jr has showed up, lookin slightly smug about somewhat smug about something… Mr Brainwash has revealed that Banksy is there somewhere in a black suit, and that something is going to happen…

0039: Gwyneth Paltrow has revealed that she always has a Guiness before she sings. She’s done the Grammy’s, now she’s going to rock the Oscars!

0030: Yes, there’s the beard!

0029: Rupert Murdock is there. Pimping The Fighter and telling David O’ Russell which party to go to…

0028: Just heard that Christian Bale has a crazy beard. Cannot see him as yet?

0025: The a-listers are coming in thick and fast now. Kevin Spacey has just rolled up. Comments on Hailee Steinfeld and fame at a young age. Comments on the fans… generic interviews….

0022: Tom Hooper is relaxed, and says that the craziness is not as crazy as it looks.

0019: FYI, Jeremy Renner is wearing YSL.

0018: Steven Spielberg arrives with what looks like his daughter. Could be wrong. It may not be his daughter…

0015: Finally got our first glimpse of Colin Firth and Helena Bonham Carter. Helena looks actually well dressed. Shorter hair than when she appeared at the BAFTAs. Firth’s wife Livia looks stunning…

0002:  Francis Ford Coppola in the house. Dude, like where have you been?

2352: Florence from Florence and the Machine is performing with AR Rahman later…

2333: Watch the red carpet right here!

2322: Follow us on Twitter. Paul is on @PaulThomasHeath, and the THN Twitter is @thncom (slightly cleaner)

2315:  It’s 57 degrees in Hollywood. No rain on radar.

2314: Just about ready to go. Beers ready, TV ready. Red carpet arrivals are already underway!
