Aslan Nearly Passed on TAKEN 2

In a matter of hours the story was that Liam Neeson, the voice of the lion God Alsan and star of a billion other films, was considering passing on his popular role of Bryan Mills in TAKEN 2 but now he has just confirmed he will be killing some people with his ‘considerable skills’ in the sequel.

Europacorp, Luc Besson’s production company, have been pushing a 2011 start date which conflicted with Neeson wishing to take sometime off from acting. So Europacorp lined up a bunch of alternatives with Sean Bean, Jason Isaacs, Ray Winstone, Ralph Fiennes and Mickey Rourke. Personally I think those are all good choices especially Winstone, Fiennes, Isaacs and, of course, Sean Bean. But none of that matters now as Neeson mustn’t of liked the idea of someone else filling his big shoes in what has been his biggest success in years.

At this point there is not much news on what the sequel will be about except it will see the role reversed on Neeson with him being ‘taken’. He will find himself in a dry and sandy type of environment, guessing the Middle East and probably by someone from his past looking to f*@k him up.

There is no set release for the film but expect it out early 2012.

Paul finished is BA in Film & Broadcast Productions during the summer and has somehow landed the position of Media & Marketing Manager in the London Korean Film Festival happening this November (plug). While at University Paul found his speciality lay in Script Development, scriptwriting and Editing. He has written, edited and director a small number of not very good short films but does not let that dissuade him from powering through. After the Koreans are through with him he looks to enter the paid world of Script Development. He likes incredibly bad horror films, East Asian movies, comics and lots of other stuff.
