Chabon to scribe MAGIC KINGDOM for Favreau

Jon Favreau, the man that brought us the IRON MAN franchise, announced in 2010 that he would not be directing IRON MAN 3, passing it onto Shane Black (KISS KISS BANG BANG), to play with Mickey Mouse and friends. Now he is partnering up with Pulitzer winner writer Michael Chabon (SPIDERMAN 2) for Disney’s MAGIC KINGDOM.

Described as NIGHT AT THE MUSEUM in Disneyland, MAGIC KINGDOM was originally penned by Ron Moore (BATTLESTAR GALACTICA) but Disney and Favreau are said to be wishing to head in a different direction. Hopefully that means moving away from the ‘NIGHT AT THE MUSEUM in Disneyland’ aspect especially since ZOOKEEPER is coming out soon which is NIGHT AT THE MUSEUM but in a zoo.

It a good idea for Chabon to jump on board as he definitely produced one of the best comic book films ever with SPIDERMAN 2 and has the much hyped JOHN CARTER OF MARS coming out next March.

Paul finished is BA in Film & Broadcast Productions during the summer and has somehow landed the position of Media & Marketing Manager in the London Korean Film Festival happening this November (plug). While at University Paul found his speciality lay in Script Development, scriptwriting and Editing. He has written, edited and director a small number of not very good short films but does not let that dissuade him from powering through. After the Koreans are through with him he looks to enter the paid world of Script Development. He likes incredibly bad horror films, East Asian movies, comics and lots of other stuff.
