“Controversial, yet different, violent movie.” That’s how ELITE SQUAD helmer Joe Padilha is describing the version of ROBOCOP that he is down to direct. I was concerned that we were going to all be rewarded wil a PG-13 version of the modern classic upon it’s initia announcement.
In an interview with Motion TV Online (which you can view below), the filmmaker said that he and screenwriter Josh Zetumer are already hard at work on the script.
The helmer discussed his plans and the pressures and concerns with directing such a retelling of an iconic classic:
“I have no concerns about it. I only work on movies when it feels right, when I add something of my own way of portraying things. I make movies for myself and I don’t feel nervous, I have no problem with expectations, and if the movie is going to work or not. I just look forward to keep its integrity and directing it the best way I can, all the rest doesn’t concern me.” He said.
