MONSTERS director Gareth Edwards has confirmed that he is on board with the highly-anticipated GODZILLA project. When asked if there was any truth in the rumours of his involvement, Edwards replied ‘there is truth… it’s in development’. The news that Edwards is indeed ‘attached to direct’ comes as great news for fanboys as his MONSTERS proved one of the most imaginative and subversive alien/monster invasion movies since… well, ever. He also confirmed that he would not be writing the movie, but was unable to say exactly who was.
‘I’m also be developing another science fiction film,’ Edwards also told THN, a film he has apparently ‘always wanted to make’. Though Edwards revealed that he would be writing this one, he was keen to keep plot details to himself. But which one of these projects will be hitting cinema screens first?
‘The way in works is that you just develop stuff and one of them falls into place faster,’ said Edwards. Either way, this is an exciting and mysterious time for fanboys…
