He is set to wow audiences this summer as Blackbeard in PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN: ON STRANGER TIDES, and now Ian McShane, the man who was Lovejoy on British TV, has signed up to star in JACK THE GIANT KILLER for director Bryan Singer.
The film is a retelling of the Jack and the Beanstalk story and Nichlas Hoult (ABOUT A BOY, A SINGLE MAN) has already signed up to play Jack. McShane will play a King in the film.
Jack centers on a farm boy (Nicholas Hoult) who leads an expedition to free a princess (Eleanor Tomlinson) taken hostage by a giant, a situation that threatens the uneasy peace between humans and giants.
Also amongst the cast is Stanley Tucci , Ewan McGregor, Bill Nighy and John Kassi.
