When you see Sucker Punch, you’ll notice that the end credits are accompanied by a cover version of Love is the Drug and some footage of a big song and dance number. We’ve heard that this is from a scene sadly deleted from the theatrical cut, but expected to appear intact on the eventual DVD and Blu-ray release.
Indeed, a whole series of musical numbers were cut from the film, and some of them were quite surprising – none more so than an inspired black-metal cover of Rebecca Black’s Friday. Yep. Before it was the viral smash it is today, this year’s most played song was turned on its head, twisted inside out and smashed bloody in a cover version by Sucker Punch’s Emily Browning and Guns and Roses guitarist Slash. Those who have heard it have described it as “literally unbelievable”. The full version, complete with a lavish Busby Berkely style production number, is expected to turn up on the home video releases, though it’s apparently unlikely that it will be edited back into the film. An appropriate news story for today, this one – it being both Friday and the day Sucker Punch hits UK cinemas…

Tell you one thing you will see on the DVD, all the scenes Zack cut because the studio wouldn’t/didn’t want a bad certificate on it. Fact!
