Ra Al Ghul Rises!

That’s right the final film in the Christopher Nolan Batman series will see the resurrection of Ra Al Ghul played by the Josh Pence, the body double of the Winlklevoss twins in THE SOCIAL NETWORK.

Ra Al Ghul was originally played by Liam Neeson in BATMAN BEGINS and looks to of died so this isn’t a real resurrection of the character. THR explains that the character will “appear in scenes that take place 30 years prior to the present story.” Nolan has been saying that he is aiming for this film to come full circle so this might mean the Ra Al Ghul might of had some kind of dealing with the Waynes before their deaths, maybe Ra Al Ghul actually orchestrated the birth of Batman by killing his parents and leading on to become the man that he was destined to be. Who knows.

But there is one thing that should be made aware of concerning the character. Ra Al Ghul’s thing in the comic book is that he has a fountain of youth called the Lazarus Pits which he would dunk himself into and has been doing this for hundreds of years. Of course this doesn’t fit into Nolan’s Batman but the name Ra Al Ghul could more likely be a title which one receives when they become the head ninja and in fact the idea of Josh Pence being used in flashbacks could be a ruse and he is just the successor after Neeson’s Ra Al Ghul’s death. This is all conjuncture though so we’ll have to wait and see until it is fully announced who the lead villain is going to be outside of Tom Hardy as Bane.
